Peeking in the Doors of Lancaster's Garages

Lancaster has become the go-to city for Angelenos trying to escape the suburban population sprawl. It's the birthplace of the USA's space program, the home of an amazing array of notables, and now a full-fledged bedroom community to greater Los Angeles.

It is said that the average garage in the Antelope Valley contains more objects than the home itself. Garage doors Lancaster shelter a great number of owned objects. Aside from a variety of household items, there is a great range of vehicles, from family cars to weekend free time transportation and recreational vehicles and gear.

AV residents' favorite recreations tend to be as diverse as any LA area community. The weekend activities tend to be desert oriented because of the local terrain. In other words, off-roading 4x4s and dirt bikes are more common than surfboards though surfers are not unknown to the AV.

Perhaps because of the great number of different items behind garage doors, Lancaster residents tend to wear out their doors at a faster pace than other LA county residents. The average Antelope Valley homeowner will replace his garage door more often than the average resident of Burbank, for instance. This may result from the lower cost of living allowing for more free time recreational pursuits. It could be due to the Antelope Valley weather extremes necessitating access to yard tools or other items. The weathering of garage doors Lancaster, due to these climate extremes, may itself be the reason for frequent garage door replacements.

The garage contents suggest residents are health-oriented. They have a lot of hobbies. They also tend to have a lot of unfinished projects. They are more inclined to weapon ownership. An AV resident is more apt to take on a home renovation. He's also somewhat more likely to have a trailer or other recreational vehicle. This may be due to the severe summer temperatures that can reach above 110 degrees. Some snowbirds often fly north during the summer.

Doors tend to be made of many materials. Many of the newer homes sport doors of more modern materials that weather far less than older wood and metal doors. They also feature more complex mechanisms that don't wear out as quickly as the older ones did. The result may be fewer garage door repairs for people in the AV, but they'll still have to figure out how to close the door against all their stuff.
